UNICOF has been fighting for workers' rights across Ghana since 2003. With over 15,000 members, your voice becomes part of a powerful collective.
Answer these four questions honestly. If any of your answers is NO — UNICOF can help you.
Are you consulted when major changes are made to your working practices?
Every worker has the right to be informed and consulted on changes that affect their job.
Does your employer listen to your opinion?
A healthy workplace values worker input. If your voice is ignored, that needs to change.
Is your working environment safe and healthy?
Ghana's Labour Act guarantees every worker a safe workplace. If yours isn't — that's a violation.
Are your wages reviewed on a regular basis?
Without a union, many workers go years without a wage review. UNICOF changes that.
If you answered NO to any of these questions, we will be able to help you and your colleagues.
If two or more employees in your place of work join UNICOF, we can apply for a Bargaining Certificate — meaning UNICOF will negotiate your conditions of service and handle all labour-related issues including grievances, on your behalf.
UNICOF negotiates your wages, working conditions and benefits directly with your employer through a legally binding Collective Agreement.
If things go wrong at work, UNICOF stands with you — from the first conversation to formal arbitration under Ghana's Labour Act.
Access to training programmes covering workplace rights, professional development, and the changing world of work in a globalized economy.
Female members have access to the National Women's Council — a dedicated space for women's advocacy, leadership and capacity building.
Younger workers can engage through the National Youth Council, building leadership skills and representing the next generation of Ghanaian labor.
As part of TUC Ghana and global affiliates, UNICOF members are connected to a worldwide network of workers fighting for the same rights.
Joining is straightforward. The process begins the moment you express interest and ends when your workplace has a recognized Collective Bargaining Certificate.
Contact the UNICOF Secretariat, visit a regional office, or complete the interest form below. Two or more colleagues joining together is all it takes.
A UNICOF organizer will meet with you and your colleagues to explain the process, answer questions and begin signing up members.
Once enough members have joined, UNICOF applies for a Collective Bargaining Certificate from the National Labour Commission.
With the certificate issued, UNICOF negotiates your Collective Agreement — and your wages, conditions and rights are formally protected.
Fill in the form and a UNICOF organizer will be in touch within 2 working days to guide you through the next steps.
